Adventures in Madrid

In all countries you have two worlds, the glittery touristy world and the real dirtier aspects of a city. It is perhaps why that despite having traversed so many cities I know little of the touristy parts. This is not the city I know, I know the gritty parts that the non tourists do not glimpse. Those places so well thumbed in travelbooks are rarely places that the locals go. So I love seeing it as a tourist. I like seeing those ignored street perfomers, like the man who miraculously played with a hook, or the girl with roses in her hair.
